Despite the guarantees of the 30 folks from Phnom Penh that forcefully made themselves our guests, they left the cabin a mess and didn't even pay in full.
🔮 I Should've Went With My Gut Instincts 🤦♂️
In my previous post I mentioned that 30 guests came into our land and demanded to stay in a cabin designed for 2, and that could sleep 4 to 6 for short stays. The rich guy who seemed to be the trip leader guaranteed he'd make it worth my while, and to simply name my price. I told him repeatedly there is no price because I don't want damage done to the toilet or cabin. I told we charge $50 per night for 2 people, but 28+ extra is unheard of.

When they left the guy gave me $50 even, not a penny extra. I feel stupid to have even offered our 4G modem to them after hearing they didn't have a SMART SIM, the only company with a signal around here. I put $5 of credit on my personal phone SIM, removed it from my phone and gave them our modem. I watched the SMART app and the $5 of credit was gone within 1 hour, an amount that usually lasts us 1 to 2 weeks. With 60 extra eyeballs on the property, it was hard to take any photos of them without being obvious, so apologies for the sub-par photography work within.
The cabin was left in a mess, and despite me telling them the tank would run out of water, they assured me it would be no problem because they have lots of gear and there is a river to use for bathing. Well, at 9pm I heard tents going up behind our bedroom, a cajón being beaten or something similar, and even singing and clapping. Srey-Yuu and I were here alone for the experience, and unfortunately didn't get to enjoy the one night per week we get to sort of get good sleep and also sleep in the following morning.
What A Hot Mess 🚯

Well, at 2am it rained, and of course the tents were pitched in the naturally occurring drainage path of the surface water on our land. They were flooded and made a lot of noise during the night as they relocated and claimed our building by the highway for themselves. The cabin sleepers drove their cars down the hill after agreeing not to do it because I mentioned we are trying to get grass going this rainy season. They also threw their trash and food scraps off of every imaginable corner of the house. Mud was everywhere, they washed their BBQ grill and meat/pork stuff in our house's personal dishwashing area, which enraged me to the point I said something to them, but they told me there was no meat and continued washing their dishes in our area with our sponges.

I am a vegan because of my spirituality, and to have flesh in my house or in contact with anything on my property is something I don't really approve of, just like the Muslims are with pork products. So I'm out $5 of internet credit, plus three sponges and a nylon brush, all contaminated, and they even dumped their dirty dish water onto the area where we stack clean dishes. They could've simply dumped the water onto the ground next to the stand, but just turned it over onto an obviously clean area. Okay, this has turned into a rant, sorry folks, time to pressure wash some mud bombs.
