It seems like the last tv series I followed and enjoyed was "The Office (USA)," but finally I have found a show on Netflix worth my time.
Black Mirror π Sci-Fi Dystopia Done Right
Β Β Β Not sure how I stumbled upon this Netflix series, but I often browse for 5 or 10 minutes and then just leave Netflix and find more appealing things on YouTube. The titles and descriptions of shows have never interested me in years, and the only stuff I ever watch on Netflix are true-crime and history documentaries. I have also watched several newer dystopian movies and tv series over the years, but most of the time this genre is not executed well.
Β Β Β Black Mirror didn't jump out at me as a title, but after reading a bit and seeing this series featured different actors in each episode and that the main theme was fictional dystopian tech and A.I. scenarios, I was quite interested. There are 6 seasons as of now, and the 1st episode of the 1st season features a Prime Minister seemingly forced to have s*x with a pig on LIVE television to free a hostage, but I won't give too many details in case you want to watch and don't like spoilers.
Β Β Β Some of the episodes are downright uncomfortable to watch, but definitely worth the experience. Many of the fictional circumstances and problems the characters face in these mostly sub 1-hour episodes feel a little too possible with the direction technology is moving. After finishing all the episodes currently on Netflix, I am left with a feeling that A.I. and other tech advancements will deliver us problems that we humans may not be able or willing to take on.
