Even after the purchase of paradise in the clouds, the @kidsisters are still bored as can be, not understanding the gravity of this new development.
🥱 Being Bored Is Good 👍

When the @kidsisters complain about being bored, I rejoice and tell them that is a wonderful state to be in, because boredom fosters imagination and creativity. They have a suitcase full of toys they haven't touched in a month, and I often remind them I was quite happy organizing my baseball cards and throwing rocks at signs when I was their age.

For modern kids, some mud, a stick, and a bicycle just aren't enough like it was in the 1980s. Monkey-B is still obsessed with cycling, but that's only because it's still new to her now. I suspect within a few months cycling will become boring, but hopefully life surrounded by nature at the new place will be much more appealing.

Monkey-B has been with me since she was 2 years old, and it often causes me to ponder nature vs. nurture. Srey-Yuu and Sreypov have very similar personalities, but Monkey-B seems to have taken her positive outlook and goofiness from me.
Some traits are inherited through DNA, and other traits come from the surrounding environment. I guess what I'm trying to say is that I take full credit for her eating pickled fruit with a pair of tongs fastened to her chin.
🛺 To The Clouds Again ☁️

After a bit of breakfast shenanigans, we hit the road with a full tuk-tuk headed for the clouds. We've not got about half of our smaller possessions there, but transporting things like the refrigerator will require me to remove the rear seat. I have calculated that everything we own will fit in the Ape other than our mattress, which will eventually be strapped to the top of the Ape on a good weather day.
🛻 Hello Puking Tourists 🤮

Most working class Cambodians only ride in a car once or twice year, so carsickness is really common here. Add to that wealthy drivers who are unaccustomed to driving in the mountains and in a hurry, you get some really sick travelers. Our house happens to the first stretch of straight road after climbing Phnum 1,500, and that makes it a good puking spot, which is what a few of the people that stopped in front of our house needed to do.

After we saw the Cambodian tourists upchucking, we decided it was time for lunch 😁. It's all about the yin and yang, so when something comes out, something must go in right? Well, the most crucial ingredient of Larb Tofu is the tofu, and today's chef left the tofu at home, so an improvised meal was whipped up while Srey-Yuu responded to her Hive comments.
I Can't Unsee What I Saw 🤢

Trash cleanup is going to be a big part of our preparations for living at the new place. I just don't feel comfortable when surrounded by even a small amount of garbage, and luckily my family feels the same way, but that's definitely not the norm here in Cambodia.
The shack by the street is where previous owners spent most of their time, and they seemingly had separate bedrooms, assuming the one full of cigarette butts belonged to the husband and the one full of used tampons belonged to the wife. You heard me right, used tampons, and I must have picked up hundreds of them. Enough about that, I am already beginning to relive that trauma.
Waste Management 🚮

There are no proper waste management services anywhere around here, so we usually just save our trash until we happen to be traveling to somewhere with government disposal bins. Our neighbors seemed puzzled as to how we will not burn garbage nor throw it in the drain across the highway, and our solution of taking it with us when we travel seems nothing less than psychotic to the average Cambodian.

On this day we didn't stay the night, and we still haven't yet. We headed back to Pramaoy just as the sun was setting, and I missed this place within 5 minutes. The colloquial name of this place is Kilometer 152, and even though you may not be able to read Khmer, you'll know you're here when you see 152 on the bottom right hand corner of all the local Ganzberg beer signs.
