Today we finalized the deal on purchasing the plot of land next to ours, but in name only, the land will actually be occupied by a friend of ours.

It's A Done Deal โœ๏ธ

ย  ย  ย Foreigners can't legally own land in Cambodia, one of the many cons of living here, so if a foreigner wants to own land here, the only way to do it is to ultimately just trust a Cambodian citizen to own your land for you and to not screw you. Unfortunately this happens all too often, and I know far too many foreigners that have been cheated by their spouse, friend, or lawyer, and lost their land/house in the blink of an eye.

ย  ย  ย My friend has entrusted my wife to own his land for him on his behalf because foreigners just can't be trusted to own land here. I think this is a stupid law, and if the USA passed reciprocal laws preventing Cambodians from owning land in the USA and also made it nearly impossible for them to become US citizens, I am sure the laws here would change instantly because that would hurt a lot of powerful VIPs who choose to live in California on their Cambodian wealth.

It's Chai Time Yo' โ˜•

ย  ย  ย After we arrived back home I decided it was a perfect gray and gloomy afternoon for a hot cup of masala chai. I picked some fresh mint from the yard and began whipping up a pot of spiced caffeine. Srey-Yuu is probably the #2 chai lover in our house, but I suspect this is mostly because she loves anything with black pepper, and she was surprised to learn I put a wee bit of black pepper in my chai on most occasions.

ย  ย  ย Next to the spicy batch of chai on the stove, Srey-Yuu fried some vegan pรขtรฉ and soy chunks to pair with a mango salad for an early dinner. She is slowly becoming more and more of an asset in the kitchen, but for the most part is still hesitant to learn Indian cuisine because "it's too complicated."

A Cheeky Fort Builder ๐Ÿฐ

ย  ย  ย I will depart with this image of Monkey-B showing off her latest fort creation. We don't have a lot of furniture, so fort-building skills are a useful thing to have up your sleeve when you need them. Monkey-B is quite adept at creating various luggage-based forts all over her room, and sometimes these forts expand beyond her room, but you have to limit fort space when you live in already tiny home. Okay, that's all for now folks, until next time.........
