We are experiencing a cold snap in Cambodia at the moment, and of course being up in the mountains where we are makes this situation more extreme.
Blue But Cold Skies ☀️

It may look warm in the above photo, but I guarantee you it is cold, at least by Cambodian standards. At 3am I recorded the temperature with my digital luggage scale at 15°C, and that is actually in the high 50s in Fahrenheit for you 'Mericans. In all my years in Cambodia I have never seen temps this cold, but it hasn't stopped Monkey-B from being cheeky. She's washing the rice while also hiding and making silly noises at me, can you see her?
Long Sleeves For All 🧥

Even during the day the temperature has rarely been getting above 19°C, so we have been wearing our warmest clothes. Even as I write this post, it's now 1am and I am wearing long underwear with an outer layer of thick fleece, and I am shaking, my fingertips a little hard to move. This might seem like ideal weather for some people, but the only warm-blooded person in our family is Monkey-B, who can seemingly generate infinite heat from within like a superhero
Sideways Fire 🔥.

This weather is expected to last for three days in total, supposedly a belt of cold air has dipped down all the way from China, and this reminds me of my boyhood home, Indiana, also known as Tornado Alley, where cold Canadian air meets warm Gulf air streams and destroys homes and lives every year. There have been some pretty extreme winds here because of similar circumstances, making lighting a fire almost impossible, and even when lit the fires burn horizontally.
Marshmallows & Hot-Dogs Don't Compare To Poppadums 🫓

In the good ole' USA, marshmallows and hot-dogs are the preferred food items to roast with an outdoor fire, but as we are vegans, those things don't interest us much. However, we had a strong desire for fire food, and it was then we remembered we have poppadums. My wife grabbed the bag and pulled some coals from the fire to roast and blister the poppadums, the perfect outdoor fire food. Somehow Monkey-B was able to read a book during these rather extreme weather conditions and low light levels.

Poppadom after poppadum was roasted until the fire died down and it was time for bed, or well, in my case, time to work on Hive for several hours while the family sleeps peacefully. These are tough economic times, both for us personally and also for crypto in general, so we can't afford to miss a post at this time. Okay, that is all I have for you folks, my fingers are freezing and I need to get under some blankets ASAP 🥶!!!
