This afternoon I've been busy figuring out various ways to download free Harry Potter audiobooks and e-books for the @kidsisters.
🎧 Surprise, Surprise 📱
E-books for common titles are easy enough to find on torrent sites and/or through a bit of googling, and I've never had too much trouble finding a free EPUB book download for the kids when I've set my sights on a particular title. Audiobooks are a whole other ballgame though, and publishers seem to be much more concerned about letting their audiobooks be downloaded for free.
The main thing is to keep educationally challenging my daughters. Reading is something they both enjoy, and the Harry Potter books are perfect for their abilities. Tomorrow I'll add the rest of the series and add some other random titles from my own childhood.
Audiobooks & E-Books For Free 👨💻
It was fairly simple to find several sites with Harry Potter books available for free streaming, but I wanted to download and transfer these files to the @kidsisters' iPads so that they can listen/read without the need for wifi. After wasting far too much time without any luck, I finally decided to take a look at the markdown code for one of the sites.
A simple Ctrl+u command or a right-click and View page source will grant you access, nothing shady or illegal. After that I usually do a Ctrl+f and search for mp3 and/or mp4 files. These are usually the direct links to audio uploads, so all you have to is open the links one-by-one until you find what you're looking for.
Sure enough my first hit was a chapter 1 audio file with a download option, so thank you very much https://stephenkingaudiobooks.com/ for not making these files too difficult to access. After downloading the chapters individually, I organized them, added the artwork files, and transferred the e-books and audiobooks to their iPads. The end result is visually pleasing, and with properly titled and labeled tracks, they are much more likely to actually read and listen.
