My wife and I recently rode our trusty old SuperCub 90 to Pramaoy to stock up on vegetables, fruit, and other random dry goods, and donuts too.
Good Morning ChairWoman Meow 🐈⬛
Every day starts with a hot beverage, a little bit of Hive time on the desktop computer, and almost never without the lovely ChairWoman Meow sitting on my lap to keep me company. Every time my wife searches the camera roll on my phone she gets upset because ChairWoman Meow dominates. In my defense, when I work on the computer in the morning, and for the most of my day actually, the kids are in school and my wife is not around, leaving me with only kitty content to capture for you all.
🤩 Star Therapy 🌠
In case you didn't notice, the fingers in the above shots are not my pasty white Irish digits, but those of my Cambodian daughter @srey-yuu's. While hanging out with her on a short school holiday, she showed me a popular new hobby that's trending in her class, star folding. Thin strips of decorative paper are sold in plastic tubes, then after being folded, a little squeezing technique results in a 3-D paper star.
I was intrigued by this paper star trend, so I asked her if they are used as a form of prison currency within the schoolyard. I also wondered if some of the higher ranking students outsourced their star-folding to lower ranking classmates, but was informed that the process of making the star is the best part, and not to be delegated to an inferior.
🫧 Shampoo Surprise 🧴
The above pre-adult was caught shampooing her hair on the porch, and seemingly amused that I would sneak a picture by discretely poking one of my arms through the window bars with phone in hand. It usually requires a bit of whimsy to make this whipper snapper smile for photos, so chalk it up as a win for dad I guess.
🐈⬛ Dr. Meow To The Rescue 🩺
Srey-Yuu has been sick for several days, and as I make this post, I just now realized the photos within are likely taken over the course of 3-4 days, but it certainly doesn't seem like that, not sure where time went. Either way above is Meow doctoring her hoo-man with a little purring and body heat. Srey-Yuu's had a stomach ache, and our kitty seems to be targeting this area with her ultra sound technology.
While Srey-Yuu was resting in the hammock and trying not to be sick, I came by and tied her legs up with the blanket. She was only lightly amused, not enough for a smile, but a hard-earned smirk was rewarded to me instead. Dad humor is never appreciated greatly in the moment, but behind the scenes it works quietly, humbly maintaining family morale.
Roadside Donut Break 🍩
Running low on human fuel, my wife and I did the usual 90km roundtrip ride to the nearest proper-ish market for fruits and vegetables, oh yeah, and donuts too. The small town of Pramaoy is sort of the last outpost before things get a little wild, and it is the only place within a few hours drive where the markets hosts various sellers competing for customers, creating slightly better prices than the small roadside sellers 30-40 minutes from home.
🥵 Old Motos Climb Mountains Slowly ⛰️
Usually the wife and I take the tuk-tuk to Pramaoy because it's easier to carry large amounts of groceries and other heavy things. Plus, around here it's 8 months of unending rains followed by 4 months of drought and wildfires. At the moment it's the lovely small window in between the rainy season and the fire season, so might as well let the SuperCub rest a moment, enjoy a donut, take a pee, and enjoy the random trash left by careless humans.
Before leaving, I noticed a small black dog picking at the trash, so I gave her a friendly call, and much to my surprise, the dog cowered and moved away as a juvenile cow manifested itself quickly, seemingly thinking we might've been its owner. After noticing we weren't anyone of interest, the cow quickly ran back to its little bit of shade. After that my camera roll is empty and this post is over. I never know how to end a post, so how bout we arrived safely home and lived happily ever after.........THE END.
