A body of water is a fairly safe place for young Cambodians to attempt flight, especially if they're almost certain to fail.
Sometimes Life Is Boring 🥱
The river is always the highlight of any day, but sometimes we have to run to town to get some veggies or diesel, and Srey-Yuu likes these trips less than of us, as demonstrated in the above photos.
Home Is Nice Though 👍
It doesn't always manifest, and especially lately I've found little time for Hive posts, so our income has ground to a halt, but ideally I'd like at least 10 minutes a day to go down to the river and relax in the cool water. This was one of the days I just had to make it happen because I knew my girls needed it more than me.
Monkey-B especially likes nature and playing in the river. She has never once let me go alone, and there is a small chance she may grow gills before she's 10 years old. Even Srey-Yuu, whose not impressed by much, finds good times in the river.
Float The Troubles Away 🏊♀️
My daughters still haven't learned to swim yet, but they're getting close. I taught my wife how to float several years ago by using breathing techniques and laying flat in the water. In due time I hope to teach the kiddos how to do this to, I feel it's so much more important than knowing how to swim. At least if they ever panic they will always know how to float and breathe.
Even if we only go swimming for a few minutes, I walk away feeling rejuvenated and fresh. It's almost like the river charges our internal morale batteries.
Let's Take Flight ✈️
I wish I wasn't paying for internet by the gigabyte at the moment because I have some really good slo-mo footage from these launch attempts, perhaps when the price of HIVE is back up I can justify the high cost of a 3Speak upload, but until then I'll have to show you the photos.
I love how Monkey-B holds her nose before jumping, but as soon as she takes a leap she lets go of her nose and takes the big drink. That's all for now folks, just trying to get a post out, still super busy and sorry for my lack of engagement lately.
