The non-perishable goods store I visit once a week has placed the Thai Virgin bar soap dangerously close to the Khmer Real Man bar soap.
🛺 Thmor Da Road Trip
Nutsara, our former neighbors' daughter, now lives in Thmor Da with her parents after we found a $50 per month house there. They now run their propane/butane business from the new location, little Nutsara still spends the night in our village with her grandparents occasionally. We took her to town on a recent trip to get groceries and pick up Monkey-B from school.
Nutsara is mostly rocked back in forth in a hammock and given a smartphone to keep her occupied. Even though she's been up and down the mountain with her parents likely hundreds of times by now, she's never stopped and appreciated the views. We decided to go slow and let her enjoy the ride, and she was smiles all the way until she passed out.
We eventually dropped off our sleeping passenger and did some shopping. You can see in the thumbnail the shot I took inside the little shop I often visit. All the beauty and hygiene products here are full of chemicals and synthetic ingredients, so I avoid basically everything. I usually bring back a 2 kilo chunk of natural black soap from the USA every time I visit, and this serves as my shampoo and soap, saving me from smelling like a combination of diesel fumes and candy.
When I arrived home Meow manifested from the shadows and was in a playful mood, so I got out the laser pointer and played our favorite new game. She likes to chase things around chair legs, so I run the laser around various chair legs with the aim of splitting her arms between a chair leg. I was able to do this with one hand and take a decent shot with the other, pretty proud of myself. Well, that's all for now, it's almost 4am, gotta get in bed before the kids wake up for school.
