Introducing My Daughter Srey-Yuu To DeFi 🦕📈🦖 1,000+ Liquid HIVE To DinoSwap

I recently introduced my oldest daughter Srey-Yuu to the world of DeFi and LP staking via DinoSwap, using 1,000 liquid HIVE she had saved over the course of many months blogging.

The Path To Polygon 🧗‍♀️

🥾 STEP 1 - LEODex.io

I'll introduce DinoSwap.Exchange when we get there, but let's start with how I used 1,110 liquid HIVE from my daughters' @KidSisters account to fund this experiment. The first step should be familiar for many of you Hivers, I simply hopped on LEODex.io and deposited the HIVE for a 0.25% fee.

After the deposit I used the SWAP.HIVE I was now holding to purchase LEO, clicking the "MARKET" button next to "Order Type," then I filled in the "Total" box with 1,110.77 SWAP.HIVE to purchase 1,715.06 LEO, as you see in the above photo.

🌉 STEP 2 - BEP20 LEO

With 1,715.06 liquid LEO on hand, I popped over to BEP20 LEO, the LEO-BSC (Binance Smart Chain) Bridge, where I typed in my MetaMask/BSC wallet address, then plugged in the full amount of LEO in exchange for BLEO. Transaction fee was 1 LEO, and within less than 30 seconds I noticed the transaction had cleared and Srey-Yuu was holding 1,714.06 BLEO in her MetaMask BSC Wallet.

🦁 STEP 3 - CUB Finance

I previously wired her $7.50 worth of BNB and 7.50$ worth of MATIC to provide her wallet(s) with sufficient funds to cover these and future transaction gas fees. To reimburse Dad (me), I sent $15 worth of BLEO to my wallet, leaving Srey-Yuu with 1,660.03 of BLEO.

You will see why in just a moment, but I exchanged the BLEO for $436.50 of USDC. With USDC in Srey-Yuu's BSC wallet, I can now begin STEP 4 and bridge these funds to Polygon.

🌼🐝 STEP 4 - XPollinate.io

I used XPollinate.io to bridge the USDC from the Binance Smart Chain to Polygon (Matic Mainnet). The site is super simple, and all you have to do is select the chain you are transferring from on the left and the one you are transferring to on the right, then select your bridge token below. As you can see in the above screenshot, I was bridging USDC from BSC to Polygon (Matic Mainnet).

When your settings are correct, click "SWAP" and wait for the above screen to load. You can see that the gas fees were only 21 cents, pretty reasonable in my opinion. I selected "SWAP" once again, and within a minute the $437.57 of USDC had arrived in her Polygon wallet.

🦖 STEP 5 - DinoSwap (Buying DINO For LP Staking)

The intended investment I had in mind for Srey-Yuu was the USDC-DINO LP Token, mostly because the 558% APR was irresistible to me. To get this started, I divided $437.57 by 2 and subtracted some gas fees, leaving me with $218.85 to exchange for 151.394 DINO. Now holding 50% in each token, I was ready to mint the LPs for Srey-Yuu.

🍣 STEP 6 - SushiSwap (Minting USDC-DINO LP Tokens)

Unfortunately the USDC_DINO LPs can't be minted on the DINOSwap site, so SushiSwap is the go-to place to mint the tokens. Everything is simple there, select "SWAP" and then "LIQUIDITY", then select USDC and DINO, max out the amount of whatever token you have slightly less of, then select "CONFIRM ADDING LIQUIDITY."

Now with the LP tokens minted, it was time to head back to DINOSwap and do some staking.

🚀 STEP 7 - DINOSwap (Staking USDC-DINO LP Tokens)

Back over to the DINOSwap site once again, and I selected "FOSSIL FARMS" because this is where I can stake the LP tokens I had just minted. I found the USDC-DINO pair from the drop-down menu, selected "STAKE LP", then "MAX" and "CONFIRM."

You can see in the above photo that Srey-Yuu has started her venture into the LP staking world with $436.91 of USDC-DINO. Of course it doesn't come without risk, but either way she'll have her UDSC, and the LP will hopefully make enough profits quickly to offset any future liquidity losses, and much profit beyond that too if things go as planned.

🔮 A BRIGHT FUTURE AHEAD

I downloaded MetaMask for her iPad, and twice a day I have her log in and excavate her DINO earnings, then stake them in the DINO Jurassic Pool. She will continue this until she can port some more USDC over to create more LPs with all of her earned DINO. When she reaches a $1,000 of value, I may consider having her invest in another platform.

Of course it goes without saying this post is by no means financial advice, I simply wanted to share this journey with you all. I'm doing my best to raise my daughters in preparation for a modern world, and I can't imagine blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies will not be a big part of the near future.

My dream is to have my daughter be financially independent before she reaches the age of 18, and I think crypto staking is gonna play a huge role in this process. I hope this is only the tip of the iceberg of the future wealth she will generate. For now the super cheap gas fees on Polygon certainly make the place a better learning environment than the Binance Smart Chain.
