Monkey-B recently created herself a set of palm wings for a test flight, and from start to finish she was hilariously entertained.
First, Our New Shack 🛖

Our old shack has been fully demolished and some of it has been rebuilt along the edge of our fence. It now serves as a kitchen for the guys and a storage area for the cement sacks. The new house will occupy roughly the same space where the shack formerly stood, and we're so excited to finally have three bedrooms and an office space.

Here is a shot of the interior of the new mini shack. The guys made a few tables so they can feel comfortable and enjoy themselves in this new space. One of the guys has chosen to put a bed frame here and claim it as his sleeping space because he likes peace and quiet.
👷 The Foundation Begins 🚧

Things are moving along pretty quickly on the new house project, and I am finally able to imagine how things might be when complete. It sure is stressful spending my life savings on a project in a country where I have almost no rights, so far no ability to own land, be acknowledged as the husband to my wife, or even any kind of longterm residency visa or citizenship after almost 15 years here. Well, what can I say, I guess I like to roll the dice.
Monkey-B's Latest Invention 🪽

Things were moving along quite like a normal day until I saw Monkey-B flying around with some DIY palm wings. She was initially reluctant to let me take photos, but after some pleading she decided to tolerate it for the memories.

It's a shame that we have to pay per MB for our internet here in the middle of nowhere, otherwise I'd share with you all a 3Speak upload of her running around and pretending to fly with her wings. She was laughing hysterically while doing it, and it caused me to follow suit and laugh uncontrollably also.

The process of putting on and taking off the wings is quite a complicated one, involving tying as palm leaves in knots in as many places as possible. She even had to slide the contraption on and off like some kind of diving suit, and you can clearly see how impressed the mothership was in the above photo. Well, it's safe to say Monkey-B gets her sense of humor from me.

After an afternoon filled with flight, Monkey-B became a bit annoyed with her wingsuit and wanted to get it off as quickly as possible. These wings are now becoming compost somewhere, completing the cycle of life from palm tree to wings, then dirt and back to tree all over again.
