Today my wife told me she was too embarrassed to hang my semi-transparent war-torn x-rated boxers on the clothesline, and I can't blame her.
Inappropriate Underwear 🚫
We came to Suriname with 7 suitcases, and we shall leave with 7 suitcases, so that means not acquiring too many things while we are stuck here. We've hardly purchased any clothes while here, and @sreypov's seamstress magic has kept my boxers alive until today.
These boxers have been repaired and re-repaired countless times, and they kind of began to take on a life of their own. About a year ago I realized it wasn't safe to wear these around the house without a secondary layer of clothing. Well, today marks the end of the road for these Franken-shorts, because my wife was too embarrassed to hang them on the clothesline where our neighbor can easily see this apocalyptic underwear.
I guess I have zero shame, so I'm glad my wife forced me to retire these boxers to a bedside rug. Things are very sandy outside our apartment, and it tends to find its way inside the home, so it's nice to give the feet a good wipe before jumping in bed. RIP boxer shorts, you served me well for four years.
Other Happenings Of The Day 🦋
@sreypov has become a legendary insect photographer, and sometimes her subjects return to the apartment with her. Today a white peacock butterfly hitched a ride on her hand and came to hang out with us for about an hour.
This butterfly was feeling pretty social, so we passed it around and let it get to know everyone before it decided to explore new territory.
As soon as the butterfly left us, Harry the lamb dropped by for his first visit of the day. He's now gotten a bit too comfortable, and he now looks for things to eat before even saying hello like he used to.
I made my legendary veggie burgers for the family today, a favorite of my wife and daughters. Srey-Yuu decided to eat while Monkey-B wanted to show off her veggie burger masterpiece, perfectly mustarded and ketchuped, with a fine array of tomatoes and cucumbers.
After the burgers were consumed and everyone was feeling rather heavy and tired, Monkey-B asked for some Hive Keychain screentime, and she disappeared for 30 minutes.
Monkey-B Finished Her First Post 🏆
It's been 8 days in the making, but Monkey-B has finally finished her first post, with only minimal help from her mother, sister, and I. Her big sister taught her how to upload photos and center them, and Monkey-B occasionally asked how to spell certain words, but otherwise she put a post together by herself.
