Today I took a break from working and decided to pee on a rock to provide one of nature's most disgusting insects a buffet.

Boyfriend Head Eater Photo Shoot 🥢

MANTIS.png

This morning started out with a surprise visit from a mantis, not sure if this particular species is one whose female eats the boyfriend's head after mating. I do know at least some species of mantis do this. and when I put this little thing on a chop stick for some close-up shots, it seemed to be sizing up my head, so I assume it was a female.

Perfect Camouflage 🪖

Since I started out with an insect photo, I decided to keep the momentum going and find some more little creatures to shoot. I found the above little guy on blade of grass, and only noticed it because it had just jumped and landed, catching my attention. My iPhone8 did not want to focus on something so small, but after putting my hand in the background just behind the insect, I was able to focus the camera and then remove my hand with some fairly successful results.

Grasshopper Living Up To Its Name 🦗

GRASSHOPER.png

I noticed a grasshopper hopping from blade to blade, and since this little insect was living up to its namesake quite well, I snapped a picture of it in between jumps.

Cambodian Wall Moth 🕵️

While walking back to the house to check on the @kidsisters, I noticed this moth on the wall near the entrance of our house. I am impressed with how often I see an insect here that I've never encountered.

Time For A Pee-xperiment 🥼

PEEER.png

While checking out the river and doing some shovel work, I noticed a massive swarm of butterflies that wouldn't seem to stop flying and chill long enough for me to get a good pic. I always tell my wife and kids that butterflies are just as happy on some fresh urine or feces as they are on a slice of fresh pineapple, and I know this from experience, seen more butterflies on turds than I care to mention.

And there it is, I walked to the big rock and let the yellow stream flow, and within 30 seconds, the butterfly gang was having a drink. So I leave with you this butterfly photography trick, just pee where you want the butterflies to land. Don't let their beautiful exterior fool you, anytime you see a butterfly, there's a 50% chance that thing was on some pee or turds just before it bestowed blessings on your day.
