The new schoolyear begins in a few days, but we'll be taking a trip to Phnom Penh shortly after registration to meet some ex-in-laws of my wife that now call California home.
A Mediocre Wash ๐คทโโ๏ธ

ย ย ย We don't have running water at our place, so giving the tuk-tuk a proper wash is nearly impossible. I've been wanting to get a pressure washed for far too long, and all the while tuk-tuk has gotten pretty dirty while waiting. Today the wife and I drove it to the town 24km away where there are a few car wash businesses. I washed and detailed cars for 14+ years of my life, so I always watch with a close eye, and these guys were horrendous.
ย ย ย They didn't use a brush on anything, never scrubbed anything at all, mostly just sprayed and rinsed it. I even had to remind them to wash the rain door exteriors and interiors which were covered in six months of dusts, and even after this they didn't clean the top of the canvas inside or out. I didn't expect much, but I did expect these guys to take a little pride in their work. There was a pickup truck that left just as I arrived, and it looked like it came off the showroom floor.

ย ย ย It was clear the guys could do a proper wash if they wanted to, but as we left I realized the reason, they quickly rushed to eat their noodles which were getting cold. Also, perhaps because our tuk-tuk costs 1/50th the price of most cars they wash, perhaps they felt we were beneath being treated like a potentially valuable customer. All in all the tuk-tuk was cleaner in the end, good enough for a comfortable road trip, and it also gave us a reason to buy some veggies at the store in town.
Head Check ๐

ย ย ย After arriving back home it was time for a mandatory daily lice check. There are lots of kids in the village, and they are all close with each other, so if one has head lice, the others will get it soon after. Better to scan each day than to find a surprise problem a week too late.
Too Scared To Give A Scare ๐จ

ย ย ย To end the afternoon and this post, Monkey-B thought she would be cheeky and scare her mom as she entered the house. In true Monkey-B style though, she got too afraid and backed out at the last moment, fleeing from the door as Pov walked inside. The scarer becomes the scaredy-cat, and they lived happily ever after...........THE END.
