The weather has been cold the last few days, so we've been drinking plenty of masala chai and also eating lots of hot spicy food.
Samosas First 🥟

One of my favorite snacks is samosas, and lately I've been making them with a stuffing mix of cabbage, onion, and poha, and paired with tomato chutney. They are so delicious that even Monkey-B, who demanded soup for lunch, still gladly devoured them despite initially being upset over the soup-less situation.
The Property Eyesore 🏚️

Post-samosa and pre-chai I found myself on the bed after apparently falling asleep during an intended short day nap. Upon awaking, I couldn't find my family in the house, so I ventured outside and found two of three members "up top" as we call it. I am very used to looking at this hodgepodge shack, but when I see it in photos I realize that this thing is an eyesore that looks like something out of horror movie. I look forward to the day it can be replaced with a proper building or bungalow.
Underwear Repair 🪡

I realized I needed to fully wake up, and also it was a very cold day today here, at least for tropical Cambodia anyhow. For this problem the solution was a pot of hot masala chai, so I began picking fresh mint and boiling all the spices to whip up a batch. While I did this my wife repaired my boxers on the mini sewing machine. All of my boxers have the butt section wear out before anywhere else, and I know it has nothing do with farts, so don't even mention it if that's what you're thinking 🤣.
Masala Chai To Defeat The Cold ☕

After finishing the pot of chai, I made myself a cup, remembering to pull the by holding the ladle high in the air while pouring the chai into the mug. Precise aim is required or you'll just be pouring scolding chai on your fingers that are only a few centimeters from the bullseye. I wasn't doing this for style, it's called "pulling tea tea," and it created that nice head of foam you see in my mug. In my case Monkey-B came by and simply slurped the foam off top of my mug, all that work for nothing, the foam is the best part yo'.
The Teenage Death Stare 😠

For dinner the wife took over and made a quick meal of "mii soo-ah," which is basically Cambodian style stir-fried bean thread noodles. I rarely can successfully capture images of Srey-Yuu actually looking at the camera, but in this case I held steady and waited for her to look up and see I had abandoned my mission. In the one second she showed me her eyes, I got lucky and managed the above shot.

I do not want to end this post with a death stare from my teenage daughter, so I'll show you the delicious treat on the end of my chopsticks. That's all I got for today folks, it's past my bedtime as usual, so I should try and get what little sleep is left to be had.
