Our new furry friend sure brings a lot of joy to our household, and best of all is that "ChairWoman Meow" adopted us instead of us adopting her.

ChairWoman Is Supreme Ruler 🪄

Because our life has been so unstable since going abroad so many years ago to get married, I've never felt in a position to take on a pet. I grew up with dogs on a farm, but even though I am used to animals, and even animals in the house and on the furniture, in Asia it's never felt appropriate.

I think a big part of this is that here in Cambodia most of daily life's activities take place on the floor of a house. Everything from eating to food preparation, homework, clothing repair, and so much more can be done on the floor, especially so when you have little in the way of furniture like most Cambodian households.

We've always kept animals out of the house for these reasons, shedding, fur, and our vegan food prep could never be done at ground level around a hungry dog. It may sound crazy, but I do believe the Almighty can come to us and also test us in many forms, and when an animal adopts you the circumstances are very different.

🤷‍♂️ Are We Her Humans Or Is She Our Cat?

Instead of us realizing we have our lives in such great economic stability and order that we're ready to take on a pet, the ChairWoman instead took pity on us. She was living her best life already, but decided to adopt us despite us not having the meat and bones she is so accustomed to eating. She doesn't shed and isn't interested in most of the food we make, and she forced us to accept her presence in our house.

It's now clear that she sensed we would be lifelong homies despite having very different lifestyles. She's just too cute, and when she took a particular liking to me and sitting on my lap every morning while I Hive and drink coffee, I decided to bend the rules and allow her to be the sole animal with exclusive VIP rights to the interior of our house.

ChairWoman Breaks All The Rules ⚖️

This was tough for me to get used to because I am a bit of hygiene, but I knew it would be even harder for my Cambodian wife to accept the presence of a kitty in the house. The first couple days were tough, and Pov was quite annoyed with the ChairWoman, but she persisted and broke a barrier that even I wasn't offering this kitty. While doing some food prep, I wandered into my bedroom and saw the ChairWoman sleeping in bed with my wife.

My wife would never tolerate an animal on the bed, and honestly neither would I, but when I saw this scene of ridiculous cuteness, I knew all rules had to be thrown out the window for this special kitty soul. Much to my surprise my wife and the ChairWoman slept an entire night together, and now this furball has forced us to allow her on the bed due to sheer ridiculousness. She doesn't always stay the night with us, not really sure where she spends 50% of her time, but because she adopted us, that is not our business. The ChairWoman is allowed to have some secrets.......
