Today I felt well enough to start taking the kids to school again, but not without first drinking copious amounts of fever-grass tea for the last several days.
Lemongrass Has Many Names 🍵
Not sure if what we had/have is COVID or not, but I have been sick with flu-like symptoms for over three days. I don't take medications unless I am near-death, so I pulled through with lots of herbal teas, especially lemongrass from the backyard. Lemongrass is often called fever-grass in the Caribbean because it is mostly grown for its leaves, and when we lived in Suriname, the Guyanese immigrants were the only ones growing it at home.
Here in Southeast Asia the bottom part of the plant is more commonly used, and often crushed in curry pastes or thinly sliced and fried or stewed with other ingredients. I really like the name "fever-grass" because there is no other herb I want to drink more when I am sick than this fragrant plant.
As I was sipping some hot lemongrass/mint tea along with a bit of Cambodian grown green tea, I watched the steam rising up from the cup and remembered my Photoshop Camera iOS app. It has some fun food filters, but I still haven't experimented with it much yet. There is one filter that adds animated steam to anything, and it sure does look a lot cooler than the barely visible real steam rising from my cup.

Monkey-B was eating some coconut bread today, and what would normally be a boring shot is quite exciting with the neon filter. Now she's eating her bread at night in Tokyo 😉. If I attempted to recreate these effects with my limited skills in GIMP, it would probably take me a few weeks to do this, and this makes me easily impressed.
Drinking With Style 🚰
I don't remember the name of this filter, but even a boring shot of my wife drinking water is made lively and artsy with the use of filters. Now that I'm feeling a bit better I hope to have some fresh Hive content for you all soon. Until then, this is the best I can do given the circumstances.
