A balanced cat diet should consist of at least 80% living souls, 10% seaweed, and 10% nutritional yeast, well, at least that's my unprofessional opinion.
πΏοΈ Prairie Meat Is Elusive π

Β Β Β A vegan household means a tough life for a kitty, but sometimes a kitty like ChairWoman Meow chooses this tough life. I taught her how to hunt well enough for her innate instincts to take over and do the rest. She can find things to eat in the tall grass, in the ceiling and on the roof, but her favorite kind of food is "wall meat." It is my uninformed opinion that geckos have all the vitamins and minerals a cat needs, and as long as a light is left on, this is a sustainable and renewable resource.
π How To Provide Your Cat "Wall Meat" π¦

Β Β Β The first and most important thing to know about wall meat is that it likes porous houses. Our house has a roof, but no ceiling, and there are plenty of creature-sized gaps that allow wildlife to freely enter and exit our home. Combine that with a country that naturally has some kind of house gecko, and after that it's as easy as turning a light on at night above the fridge.

Β Β Β Insects are drawn to the light, geckos are drawn to the insects, typically ambushing them from the safety of the refrigerator. The refrigerator gap is a perfect place to place a cat for self-feeding, and if you have a vegan household, it's kind of a responsibility, a bit like pouring cat food from a bag. When Meow is placed on the fridge she knows it means I've likely already spotted a gecko on the wall.
πββ¬ Patience Is A Virtue π§ββοΈ

Β Β Β I have seen the ChairWoman Meow patiently wait for hours on top of the fridge, all just for a gecko the size of a couple crickets. Well, there are plenty of mice and other things to be hunted around here, but for some reason she likes her "wall meat." This is most often geckos, but if any insects are large enough, they are also fair game. Moths, cicadas, lightning bugs, they're all dinner options for this feral cat with domestic aspirations.
