I think I alone could power that rocket from the shame I feel when I let one rip in a public but discreet location, only to find a random pedestrian ninja has broken the matrix and willingly or unwillingly taken part in what was intended to be a solo act.
That's right folks, this is a sh*t post, or more properly a fart post. On second thought, that's not even true, let's just start over. I have secretly been wanting to make a Khmer-Fu short amateur movie with my wife and kids, @sreypov and the @kidsisters. The only problem is some of us are camera shy, so for now I'm focused on testing some very amateur editing techniques that may help in future fight scenes.
@stortebeker has lit a fire under my arse, and encouraged me to do something I've only casually contemplated. As we're not ready to film any scenes yet due to a shyness plague, I wanted to test the puff of smoke disappearing act, and I think I've more or less got it down now. It's hard to make a storyboard/plot when you're not sure what effects one can manifest, so once I've learned how to give you all the cheap b-grade special effects a Khmer-Fu film deserves, I'm gonna finalize the plot and start filming.
Something really beautiful and hilarious about many Cambodian films are that sometimes the whole movie is dubbed over with in-house sound effects for the fight scenes. For some reason, even many movies filmed in Cambodia replace the original audio with a "better" dub. I love the cheap special effects and the audio dubbing, and I intend to incorporate this into our potential Khmer-Fu film. The over-the-top "acting" is also wonderful, and it reminds me of American films from the 1940s.
